Today I was woken up by a family call at 9 am Vietnam time. It was nice as I have been struggling the past 2 days. I then slept till 1pm. Harrison and I met up and we went for some food. Strangely enough a lot of the food vendors were closed today and we didn’t know why. We ended up stopping at a bakery and bought a piece of pizza, a pepperoni role and I meat sandwich. What’s strange is that all of the bread for this meal was very sweet. It seems they put a lot of sugar into things that don’t need them. Next I worked on my blog for a couple of hours. I needed to catch up for the last 4 days. Lara left today and she said I could have her desk as I don’t have one in my room. I haven’t felt very motivated to log my days but I’m going to try and be better from here on out. We leave at 6 pm today to go to ha long bay with the schools owners wife. We leave tonight and go there till 12 pm tomorrow. I’m not sure what’s in store for us but it should be a lot of fun
We got picked up at 6 pm and we fit 7 people into a 5 passenger car. They said we are going to go for dinner and eat some seafood in ha long. We played eye spy with the kids in our way to Halong bay. Ate a mangosteen for the first time. Drinking beer with ice in it. I didn’t venture very far from what I know seafood wise for dinner tonight. I had shrimp and crab and something I usually don’t eat was oysters but they were covered in cheese so they tasted good.
Next we went to a party on the beach. It was so big it was festival like. It wasn’t very packed and not a lot of people were dancing but people were standing around and enjoying the music. Our host family paid for everything tonight. They even got us a cabana that served us fruit and beer and ice cream. I am very thankful for them. To finish off the night I taught Harrison how to play crib
